WHAT IS MY SKIN TYPE?Each of our four core products in the 4-step OM4 skin care system is formulated specifically to address the male skin health and nutrition of each of the four basic skin types. Simply click on sensitive, oily, normal or dry below, and all the products for that skin type will appear. As a general rule of thumb, it is helpful to remember that we start out with sensitive skin as a baby and remain sensitive in our youth. Generally, we transition to oilier skin in our adolescence and 20's, normalize in our 30's to mid 40's and gradually become drier as we mature as a result of decreased testosterone and other factors. It is important to note this broad generalization is not true for everyone. Some individuals remain sensitive, oily, normal or dry throughout life due to genetics, ethnicity and a combination of other factors that affect skin function. Sensitive Skin - male skin that is prone to irritation, burning and redness, especially, after shaving or cleansing. Products in this category are effective for many shaving related skin problems/conditions such as razor burn, cuts and nicks. The Sensitive collection is also helpful for male rosacea.
Oily Skin - male skin that develops an oily feel and shine throughout the day. Oily skin can give rise to blemishes and sebum-related skin conditions such as acne. Oily skin is often more prevalent in adolescence and men in their 20's and early 30's. Skin may also remain oily throughout life.
Normal Skin - male skin that is clear, and in most cases, non greasy. Combination skin - normal cheeks, neck and facial periphery, but oily T Zone (nose and forehead), will also benefit from normal skin products. Simply apply less product or dilute moisturizer with a few drops of water when applying product to the T Zone for a balanced, even complexion.
Dry Skin - male skin that feels dry, dehydrated or patchy. Flaking and itchiness is often a common dry skin condition. Skin tends to dry as we mature and hit the tender age of 45 and beyond. Sun-damaged and mature skin needing extra hydration and brightening also benefits for OM4 dry skin products.
